Biographical Info

T Barny has been creating sculpture professionally for over 30 years. He studied at both Stanford and Brown Universities, and was graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. Abstraction is his fascination, and power tools are his forte. All materials have artistic promise in them and T Barny has worked with every type; hot glass, neon gas, bronze, wood, water, steel, and stone. From one foot high tabletop sculptures to twelve-foot tall corporate monoliths, T Barny releases inherent forms out of materials from all over the world.

The natural forms & geometric shapes that science creates are reflected in T Barny's work. His goal is to create works that reflect the magic and wonder in our world. Known for his seashell like, mobius forms, T Barny works often provoke the response, 'how does he do that?'

During his career, T Barny has worked as Artist-In Residence at art centers in Woodstock, New York, Texas, Tinos, Greece, and Carrara, Italy. He has thought stone carving in California, Vermont, and New Mexico. As a full time sculptor, T Barny must market and distribute his work as well as create it. His work has been shown in over 60 different galleries worldwide and he has participated in over 260 group and individual exhibitions.

T Barny is currently represented by T Barny Gallery and Sculpture Gardens in Healdsburg, I. Wolk Gallery in St. Helena, Solage in Calistoga, District Gallery in Park City, Utah and Hunter-Kirkland Contemporary in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 2003, he established the T Barny Gallery and Sculpture Gardens in Alexander Valley, California. His work is in numerous corporate and private collections worldwide.

Gallery & Sculpture Gardens

Located in the beautiful Alexander Valley wine country in California, T Barny established the gallery in 2003. The Gallery & Sculpture Gardens is the annual site for the private collector's show in June and ARTrails Open Studios which is open to the public in October. Individual appointments and larger group tours can be arranged for studio demonstrations and gallery shows. Viewing an exhibit at the T Barny Gallery & Sculpture Gardens is an exciting opportunity for all. It is that one time chance to see the new pieces before they find new homes or are shipped off to galleries.

T Barny has been in over 300 shows in 30 years. He currently exhibits at Hunter Kirkland Contemporary in Santa Fe, NM - District Gallery in Park City, UT - I. Wolk Gallery in St. Helena, CA - Solage in Calistoga, CA - and Capture Fine Art Gallery in Healdsburg, CA.
