Watch the Creation of VALKYRE

It took about a year and a half for T Barny to complete his ‘Volterra’ Alabaster sculpture VALKYRE; join him in his creative journey. This piece is a bit different from his other trefoil sculptures, this time he decided to leave the loops of the stone connected to each other.

When Italian Alabaster Miners in Volterra are prospecting for large veins of stone, they diamond core drill deep into the mountain and then inspect the cores they pull out. T Barny carved this piece from a 300-pound boulder that had a core channel all the way through it. He had to work around the hole and now it weighs a bit over 100 pounds.
